Nikah Service

Please fill out all the required information below and submit it. 

Please inform the office by calling/texting at 832-386-8636 to obtain with a confirmation. 

Please keep in mind that this is not the Nikah contract. The Nikah contract needs to be filled out separately on the Day of Nikah or prior to the Nikah day.

You are encouraged to pay $325 or more as a humble contribution to Jamiah Islamiah Texas via Zelle or Check.

Important to know 

1.    it is a must to get educated about the rules of nikah, rights of spouses, rules of talaq and divorce from an experienced senior Alim before getting married.

2.    It is sunnah to perform the nikah in the masjid.

3.    It is sunnah to have simplicity and avoid extravagance in the arrangement of nikah.

4.    It is always fardh (compulsory) to maintain the shary’ee requirement of the Hijab/Parda and not to mix males and females in the same room.

To conduct a Nikah, the following requirements must be met:

  1. Bride and groom must be Muslim
  2. Bride and groom’s consent to marry
  3. Two Muslim witnesses
  4. Bride’s Wali (Guardian)
  5. Legal marriage documentation with the State of Texas.
    • Obtain a Marriage License from your local County Court House (Harris, Fort Bend, Montgomery). Please contact your County Clerk’s Office for fees and requirements.
    • A Marriage License is valid for 30 days from the date of the issue.
    • Marriage License is NOT valid for FIRST 72 hours from the time and date of the issue.
    • Get an appointment with Imam for Nikah at least one week in advance.
    • Obtain Jamiah “Marriage Certificate” by calling  Office at (832) 386-8636 or the Imam who is performing the Nikah.
    • The Marriage License and Marriage Certificate must be signed by all concerned and dated.
    • The original documents,(Marriage License and Marriage Certificate), must be submitted to the  Office of Jamiah after Nikah is performed.
    • The Office will validate the Marriage Certificate with Jamiah Seal.
    • Return the Marriage License to the county to record the marriage.  It will be mailed back to the married couple.
